Getting to it

We recently got back from a fun trip to California that involved seeing Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandma and Grandpa Wells and even Great Grandma Wells.  We also meet Mickey and Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Ariel, Bell, Princess Tiana and saw a few others.  I have lots of pictures to post.  I will get to it.

Before we left I went to the doctor because my hands hurt.  The joints and such hurt to pick up anything more than a couple pounds and to grip anything.  The initial assessment was Rheumatoid Arthritis but after lab work came back the results say a problem with my thyroid.  Which explains why I am also super tired all the time.  I thought that I just needed to get used to having three kids, or eat better or start exercising again.  But really the thought of some of those things just tires me out.  So hopefully this coming week I can get started on some medication and my energy level will return.  Because I seriously took a three hour nap today and feel like I could take another and then sleep 8-10 hours tonight!

So anyway I will have the energy again and hopefully soon and I will post about our fabulous trip.   Until then I can blame pretty much anything to my thyroid.  Seriously there are like a million symptoms, so ya it can take the blame.  Aaron just rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

Plan of Salvation

My weekend started out on Friday morning attending funeral services for the son of a family in our ward.  They lost their 28 year old son suddenly.  As I was there I thought about the words that the friends and family members said.  I was touched and felt the love of my Savior.  I felt happy knowing what I know about the Plan of Salvation.  Knowing that Heavenly Father has designed a plan where families can be together forever.  This brought me peace in this family's time of trial and sorrow.  As I thought about all the good this 28 year old had done with his life (only 2.5 years younger than me) I thought man I have a lot of catching up to do.  I was inspired to be more mindful of others and do what I can to help the work of our Heavenly Father.

My thoughts then turned to what I would be doing later that same day.  And that was to take pictures of a sweet 8 year old.  She wore her white dress and we meet at the Temple.  She was taking the first step or ordinance of the Gospel.  She looked so pretty all dressed in white.  We got some snow these last couple of days and the Temple grounds were covered in the pretty white snow (not the yucky kind that has been around for weeks!).  So perfect for this special day.  The grounds were clean and white.

Then on Saturday the kids and I headed to Idaho to attend her Baptism.  I was excited for the kids to witness such a special thing.  Again my thoughts turned to the Plan of Salvation.  I feel so blessed.

This coming week I get to take pictures of a newborn.  I am overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude.  I feel so blessed that I get to experience various steps in the Plan of Salvation in just a short amount of time.  This new baby just came to earth, he just left the presence of Heavenly Father.  The 8 year old is making the first step in choosing the right, so that she can one day return to our Heavenly Father.  The young man who passed away is now back with a loving Heavenly Father.  I got to catch glimpses of some major steps to the Plan of Salvation.

A side note:  At the Baptism, Jack and Paige had a hard time sitting still and being reverent during the talks.  While we waited for Melanie's turn to get baptized, a movie was shown in the chapel.  Paige could not get over how AWESOME it was!  I have never seen her so captivated at church before!  She just kept saying 'this is so AWESOME! It's like a  movie theater at church!"  But never peeling her eyes from the screen.  Too bad the movie wasn't on the deep importance of being nice and listening to your parents.  Hahaha.

Days: I am not to still not sure

So I had this grand goal to take a picture a day and to blog it started January 1st 2012.  Turns out my life isn't that exciting and it takes a lot of time.  The reason I decided to do this was to make sure I captured my kids in their everyday as well as on special occasions.  I want to remember them being little.  I also liked the idea of being challenged to improve my photography.  I thought it would be nice to looked back on rough days and see the funny things they did.  So I am revising my goal to have my camera ready and at hand to take pictures when they do something worth remembering.  If I get one everyday then that is fantastic, but if not I am not going to beat myself up about it.  It is what it is.

So here are some pics from Jan. and Feb. that never got blogged and I am pretty sure its not everyday.  And yes I could look at my metadata in Lightroom to figure out what day each photo was taken, but really I don't want to spend the time to do that.

The kids were jumping on the bed one day.  These winter days are long.  Even though we have a VERY mild winter it is still a little too chilly to take Ginger out.  So the kids have to get their wiggles out other ways.

My grandma had a stroke (she is doing well and recovering as good as can be expected) and so my mom came to Utah to help my grandma for a few days.  She was able to sneak away over the weekend and visit us.  Aaron and I had the Bridal Fair so it worked out nicely.  Ginger was so tired.  Noni wore her out.  She just fell asleep on my mom.

For Christmas Grandma and Grandpa Wells gave Paige a doll house.  It used to be Jessica's (Aaron's sister) and so it needed some updating.  We started re-painting it..... we haven't finished yet, but we will.

I got a little ambitious and decided to use some of the knit I had and make Ginger some pants/skirts.  Here is one of the pairs I made.  I think they turned out super cute.

I couldn't not take a picture of the cute little girl inside them!

We splurged and got Ginger a high chair.  After getting rid of our old one after Paige was done with it, I knew I wanted one that clipped to the table.  The other one took up too much precious floor space.  We also got a double stroller.  I love them both.  Ginger loves being able to sit at the table with everyone. She even likes to sit in her seat when the kids are playing at the table.  She loves to be where everyone is.

Cute baby at 5 months or maybe it was 6 months.  I am not sure.  But either way she sure is cute!

 Happy Birthday Aaron!!!!

Aaron's birthday cupcakes.  I made two different flavors so that he could bring some to work.  The green ones are mint oreo and the other is chocolate crunch.  I have to say that I am not a huge fan of chocolate cake but both of these were super yummy.

I asked to get something out of the dryer.  This is how he decided to do it.  Whatever works!

Paige got invited to a Valentine's Day tea party.  After explaining to her that some tea is ok to drink that the party would have the bad kind of tea or probably any kind of tea (I couldn't imagine 3 years liking the taste of herbal tea) she was super excited to go.  She brought Valentine's to the other little girls there.  I had wanted to 'make' her a special Valentine's dress.  I didn't get to it the Friday before, so I woke up early Saturday morning and finished it with a few minutes to spare before the party started.

She looked so pretty I had to take a few pictures.  One of the many reasons I love having a red front door.  A perfect Valentine's backdrop!

Jack had a cavity that had to get filled.  They gave him the gas to relax him during the procedure.  He was pretty chill.  He survived but I don't think he was a fan of the numbness he felt afterwards so hopefully that will encourage him to brush his teeth more willingly.
