The First Snow of the Season

On Tuesday, we got our first snow fall of the season. Jack could not have been happier. The kid LOVES snow. Once he saw that enough snow had fallen and had not immediately melted he was asking to go outside. So I dug out the good ole snow clothes and we headed the park at the end of our street. The first thing Jack did was make a snow angel, in fact he told me the reason he wanted to go out and play in the snow was to in fact make a snow angel. Paige got her first little experience in snow as a walker. I am pretty sure that Paige and I have the same feelings towards snow. (Its magical and nice up until December 31st) After the snow had started to melt from all of the snow angels Jack was making, we headed back to our house, where we made a snowman (Jack's other reason for wanting to be outside). Then I convinced Jack that it was time to come in so we could have some hot chocolate.

That's my girl! Eat that snow!

Paige got a little frustrated that snow kept sticking to the bottom of her boots.

One of the many snow angels.

The process

Inspecting his work.

Concentration!

The little snowman.

Jack told the snowman to say 'cheese'. Can't tell if he listened.

After Jack woke up from his nap he was ready to out in the snow again. Just as we were heading back inside the first time it started to snow some more, so there was plenty more snow to play in. About the time I got Jack bundled again to go out in the cold weather Aaron got home from work. Aaron couldn't resist Jack asking him to come out and play with him. So the two built another snowman, a lot bigger (show off) and a snow cat. Wednesday when we went to go run some errands most of the snow had melted and Jack was so sad that the snow cat was gone and his snowman was starting to melt. (I guess he didn't care about the snowman I built with him ;(
By now there isn't really any snow left on the ground, but I am sure that Jack wants it to snow again and soon.

Do you think they just might be related?

Jack age 15-16 months (somewhere in there!)

Paige age 19 months

Pum-Pums

I have been looking for the perfect place to get pumpkins. I wanted to find a place like I went to growing up. This place we got pumpkins at every year while growing up had tons and tons of pumpkins, a little petting zoo, great places to pose for pictures, other fall produce and the pumpkins were fairly cheap. So I have been on the hunt to find something similar in Cache Valley. The only thing I was willing to forgo was the petting zoo, but I wanted everything else. After doing a few online searches and driving around for an hour and a half, I finally found it. It is the Paradise Valley Orchard in Paradise, UT. What a find. The only bummer thing is that this year we came too late in the season. There pumpkin patch which produced around 1,300 pumpkins only had a few rotten ones left. But we will know for next year. Lucky for use just across the street were a bunch of good pumpkins that we could choose from.

Paige calls pumpkins "pum-pums"
The other not so good thing about an empty pumpkin patch was all the vines made huge tripping hazards for the kids. Paige took a number of falls.

Jack did too.

As soon as Aaron picked up the two pumpkins Paige latched onto one of them. I think that she thought she was helping!

So cheesy!

It was fun picking out pumpkins, next year we will make it earlier to the Paradise Valley Orchard. It will be more the experience that I am hoping to give the kids.

North Logan Pumpkin Walk

The theme for the pumpkin walk this year was "And now a Word from our Sponsor". I took more pictures this year of the different scenes because I wanted to remember how creative the scenes are with using pumpkins. We had fun. We chose the best time to go because it was not crowded and it was still daylight and not freezing cold yet.

This was the first display. All I have to say is yuck! Pumpkin m&ms? It was cute though they had a pumpkin m&m in every scene. They were all pretty easy to find but it was fun to do while walking through all the displays.

I love Geoffory the Toys R Us giraffe! Do you see the m&m in this scene?

Remember this commercial?

Jack loved this scene. I think it was his favorite!

Jack was dancing the Micheal Jackson music that was playing to go along with the scene below. It was pretty funny. He was doing kicks and totally rocking out.

"Billy Jean's not my lover"
(I don't actually remember what song was playing, this was just
the first one to come to mind when typing ;)

I think that my favorite was this Keebler Elf scene. It was really well done.

This one is for you Dad!

I wish my garden would look like this, I guess it could if I painted pumpkins to look like the different vegetables.

So creative!

Near the end of the walk there a bunch of cut outs for picture taking. Jack had to do all of them except the Disney Princesses.

Uh... Yoda, you ok?

Say Cheese!

It is just funny.

At the very end there is a witch every year. Like Santa Claus, almost. Well this year this is as close as Jack would get to her. If you zoom in you can see the stink eye he is giving her.

Jack was pretty much mesmerized by this one. It moved... need I say more?

More cutouts. It makes me laugh.

I just have to laugh when I see this one!

We love going to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk.

The Divvy Up!

I was up late last night getting my two booths and clothes ready for the Divvy Up Since I am not usually up late at night I have no idea what show I was watching, but it was pretty funny. It was a late night talk show with an Irish or Scottish guy. Maybe I was just a little slap happy from being so tired, but I was laughing hard. The other thing I discovered was that Oprah comes on again! Yesterday she had Taylor Swift as a guest. I really like her. The things you discover about TV programing at 1 in the morning!

So the Divvy Up is this weekend. Not only have I submitted some baby items (to trim down on what we store for the next kid) but I also have both Studio 21 Photography and Wordy Bird on display! If you are in or near Logan tomorrow or Saturday stop on by the Divvy Up and check out the great deals and enter to win one of my contests. I am giving away a free mini session from Studio 21 Photography and a nativity glass block from Wordy Bird. Plus there is a 10% off coupon for Wordy Bird!

Willow Park Zoo: Boo at the Zoo

We took the kids to the Boo at the Zoo at the Willow Park Zoo. It was not nearly as crazy as the boo at the zoo at the Hogle Zoo last year. They seemed to have a good time. Both Jack and Paige wore their costumes to the zoo and both are going as Pirates this year. They looked awfully cute!

When we first walked into the zoo there was this cut out. Whoever painted it, did a terrific job. It looks awesome.

Sometimes I think when Paige is wearing the bandanna she looks like a cancer patient.

She enjoyed sitting in her stroller eating candy as quickly as she got it.

They had fun little activities for the kids. Jack made an owl thing, not sure what you are supposed to do with it, actually now that I think of it I am not sure if it came home with us! Oh well.

Aaron painted a mustache and goatee on Jack's cute little face. I think that it completed his look.

Both kids were happy to watch all the other kids and point out the costumes.

Here they are people watching.

And it looks like someone caught their attention!

It was pretty chilly and so we bundled up Paige. We had such a good time. I love October in Cache Valley because there are so many activities geared toward families.
