sisters are different flowers that come from the same garden!

This past weekend, I was in Salt Lake staying at my aunt's house with the rest of my aunts, my mom, my sister and only a small handful of my girl cousins. We had a sister's weekend. My aunts from Washington came, as well as my mom and aunt from California, plus four cousins and my grandma and the two aunts that live in Utah! We had lots of fun. Saturday we played bunko, went to a melodrama at the Desert Star in Salt Lake and on the way home from the melodrama I thought I was starting labor! Turns out I was just super tired and had some gas. But my aunt who has worked as a labor and delivery nurse for many years wasn't sure at first. Just needed some rest and lots of water. But earlier that day my other aunt did go to the hospital because she was having heart problems and while she was there they cardioverted her (its when they use the paddles). So already on the first day we had a few exciting medical moments. My aunt is fine and was able to play the rest of the weekend just fine. Then on Sunday we went to Gorgoza Park which is in Parley's canyon to go tubing. The website said that they opened at 11am. So we got there early so that we could be first in line. Turned out they didn't open until 1pm. So we killed an hour or so at the Wendy's across the street from the outlets in Park City. Once we got back to the tubing place, the weather was so nice that the snow started to get slushy and so the tubes didn't go very far down the hill. So we said forget that! We went back to Park City and did the Alpine Coaster. That was so fun!!! I have to make the suggestion that if you go while pregnant make sure you can bend over comfortably! You have to lean forward in order to push down the lever to accelerate. I ended up using my knees, which you are not supposed to do. As we were leaving Park City it started to snow, but we didn't think anything of it because it snows in Utah this time of year. By the time we got on the I-80 it was really coming down and idiot drivers were speeding and of course there were a few accidents. It took us 2 hours to go a mile. Once cars and semi-trucks had to stop and then start again, they started to slip backwards or just spin their tires. It was such a mess. One of my cousins and my aunt had to catch flights. Both barely made it. My cousin had to go straight to the airport and her parents are mailing her stuff to her! Since I am pregnant and we were basically at a stand still for two hours of course I had to go pee. So we were in the left lane and I was in the car with my sister, my mom and my aunt from California. We opened the passenger and the driver doors while my mom and aunt held a blanket across the two doors, to kind of give my a bathroom stall. Keep in mind that it is still snowing. So I proceeded to squat and relieve myself. As I was squatting there, my feet started to slip into the splits. I forgot to grab a tissue or something to wipe and so I asked my sister for a tissue and she thought I said that I have to poo! She started freaking out and saying just pinch it! My mom figured out what I was saying as my feet slipped further and further apart and handed me a tissue. Finally I got up, just then the traffic started to move and so I hoped into the car as fast as I could go. Then we were stopped again and I really needed some liquid or to chew on ice or something. So my sister gets out of the car and goes to the center divide and grabs a handful of snow. Shortly after she gets back the guy in the car behind us brings us a water bottle! I am sure that was sight to see a pregnant girl going pee in the middle of the highway for those cars around us! Well we got my aunt to the airport on time and then Aaron was waiting for me at my aunt's house by the time we got out of the canyon, to take me home. We got back late last night and I am exhausted. It was an exciting weekend!

Making Cookies With Mom

So we are a little behind. Jack and I made cookies on 2/15/08. We did not have time on Valentine's Day, so we made some the day after. Jack had lots of fun rolling out the dough and pushing the cookie cutters into the dough. He made quit a mess when I let him add the sprinkles to our spritzer cookies. Any way happy belated Valentine's Day!

SNOW, SNOW & MORE SNOW

Will it ever go away? I am sitting at work looking out the window and I can't see 600 West which is right in front of me. It is blowing. It is looks like a sheet of white paper has been taped to the windows. I am sooooo ready for the snow to go away! I keep telling myself only a few more weeks. I hope anyway. I am jealous of those who are not living in Utah.

Being Jack

Jack is a silly boy! He found goggles and now likes to wear them around the house along with my shoes! At least he doesn't wear them all at the same time. Jack is addicted to youtube! He feel asleep one afternoon sitting at the computer watching some of his favorites videos.

West Yellowstone Trip

We went to West Yellowstone for the weekend to celebrate Aaron's 30th birthday. We had a great time but we were a little disappointed that I didn't do enough research before hand to know that the Yellowstone park is pretty much closed down for the winter to wheeled vehicles. So the west entrance was not open and we were not able to go in the park. There was so much snow. I am afraid that the pictures don't do it justice. Aaron still has not been to Yellowstone, so I guess we will be going back!
