First Days

This week we had a couple of first days of pre-school.  Jack got to have his first day on Tuesday and Paige had hers on Thursday.  This year both kids were able to get into the Child Development Lap on USU campus.  It is really nice having some where for Paige to go and to have them both at the same place.

Jack is my social kid.  He has been driving me nuts these past few weeks.  He just LOVES to be around other kids and lots of them.  I am hoping that once we get into a rhythm with pre-school he will get his fill of people interaction.  I think that he will be telling me about his new friend everyday until he meets and becomes friends with all 20 kids in his class.  He is looking like a big kid to me and no longer a toddler.  Where does the time go?

My little girl looked so grown up when I dropped her off.  I am hoping that this will be a good experience for her.  She is not as outgoing as Jack and sometimes a little shy.  I am excited to watch her interact with other kids.  I see Paige and Jack play or fight and so I worry how to she is when she doesn't get her way with someone who is not her brother.  Today she sat on one of the teacher's lap during group time and cuddled into her.

Both kids were so excited for pre-school.  The great thing for me is that two days a week I have 2 1/2 hours by myself!!!!  What will I do with my time?  Well today I watched the kids from the observation room at pre-school.  Pretty exciting huh?!

Almost Done

I think that I am almost done blogging and recording our trip.  Whew!  One staple on a road trip is Inn n Out.  My very favorite place to eat.  I promise it is my favorite.  It tops any fancy restaurant.  I am one happy girl when I get me some Inn n Out.

This may sound really gross to some of you but I think we ate at Inn n Out a total of 6 times during our two week trip.

So of course we had to make a stop at the Inn n Out in Reno, the last one for a long time!

Oh look at that yummy goodness!

The kids do not share in my love, but they do a good job of humoring me and plus they get stickers!

The closet Inn n Out to me is an hour and a half away!

As we were heading out of Nevada (I think) we saw this sign:

See the first exit.  Yep it was named after us!  Just kidding!  I have no idea if it was or not.

Walk to the Rock

In Morro Bay there is a land mark commonly known as 'the rock'.  Also known as Morro Rock.  Since I have been away at college a walking path was put in by the rock.  So on one of our last days we took a family walk.

Some of us rode a scooter....

Some of us talked on the phone...

Some of us got help riding a scooter...

Some of rode long boards...

Some of us pretended to ride a long board...

Some of rode in a stroller while snacking...

Some of us played basketball...

Some of us posed in front of the rock...

And when we got to the end some of us took a little time to rest and kick off our shoes...

It didn't matter how we took our walk, it was a gorgeous beautiful day.

Bonfire

What is a trip to the beach without a bonfire?  Well its not much of a trip, but don't worry we had a bonfire and it was awesome.  The kids had lots of fun eating smores and banana boats.

Paige had so much sand on/in her by the time we got back to the beach house.  I have no idea how she got it in so many places.

I had to post these pictures of my mom's friend and her dog.  Look at how the dog is sitting on her lap!

Betsy is Barbara's granddog and loves to be held like a baby.  But if you notice Betsy is not a small lap dog.  It made me laugh.

I've still got it!

We all longed to get to the beach as much as possible.  Its just in our blood.

We were total tourists!  We decided to rent wetsuits one day.

The girls!  Katie took the ocean like a true Ryan!

It was so much fun that we rented them again two days later.  (Aaron is the only one who didn't rent one, he said that he was a 'real' man for braving the freezing cold water!) My mom and dad even joined us in the water for a little bit too.  I think that I spent like 2-3 hours in water just floating, boogie boarding, and just playing around each day.  Matt and I reminisced how it felt like we were 9 and 11 again.  We used to spend so much time in the water and at the beach as kids.  The main difference for me this go around is that now I have contacts!  I was actually able to see the seals that would swim next to us or the pelican go in for dive!  When I did Jr. Life Guards, we would be out in the water and someone would spot a seal or a dolphin and I could never see it because I left my glasses on the shore.  It was totally awesome to be able to see.  Oh man I had so much fun being a kid again!

So what were the actual kids doing while all of their parents were being kids again?

That's right they played in the GIANT sand box with Noni.

I must not have gotten pictures of Paige playing with Jack, Abby and Noni, but she did and she enjoyed it.

Off to catch some killer waves! ;)

Cameron and Stephen heading into the water.  Stephen also took to the ocean quite well!  Gotta love having in-laws who can enjoy the ocean like their native central coast spouses!

Matt rented a doyle one day and broke it!  Total bummer.

Here is one more picture of one HOT mama!

Oh ya I am smokin'

Three Musketeers

Jack and Paige thoroughly enjoyed the chance to play with ALL of their cousins while we were in California.  The first week of our Cali expedition they got to spend time with the cousins on Aaron's side and the second week they got to spend time with their cousin on my side.  In fact since we all stayed in the same house they got to see all sides of each other, the good, the bad and the ugly.  Two 2 year olds... need I say more?!

They did all seem to enjoy taking baths.  If I was getting a bath ready for Jack and Paige, Abby would make her way in and the same happened when the bath was being started for Abby.
