The 'little' River

Yesterday I had a quick little photo shoot, so I brought the kids along.  While we were walking into the studio Jack asked if he could play in the little river, meaning the gutter!  In Logan the gutters can run pretty full this time of year.  I told them that if they were good during the photo shoot than yes we can play in the little river!  LOL  They make me smile.

Here are a few pics that I snapped.

The water was pretty cold.  Oh but it felt so good on my swollen feet.  I wished we had some of that water flowing by our house!  The kids didn't like keeping their feet in the water for very long.

I thought while I am putting in a blog post I would add a little pregnancy update.
I am getting closer to delivery!  Yippee!  Two weeks ago at my appointment, I started measuring small and so it worried the doctor a little bit and had me get an ultra sound to check the growth of the baby.  We got to see our little baby last week.  It was fun to have another ultra sound so late in the game.  We could see hair on its head and in the 3D shots the face was more defined.  One shot we got was of the baby's face with its foot in its eye!  Not a whole lot of space in there!  We had another chance to find out the sex of the baby, but the ultra sound technician helped us stay strong.  She wasn't going to show or tell us even if we begged.  I am glad she didn't let us (me) cave!  Well everything was fine with the baby's growth.  It turns out that the baby has just dropped a little and that is why when my belly is measured it measured small.  My official due date is Aug. 13th, however with the numerous braxton hicks contractions and a handful of painful contractions a week, I may not make it that long.  I am almost 34 weeks and both Jack and Paige came about 2 weeks early so if the trend follows then I have about another 4 weeks or so!  I am so hoping and wishing and praying that this kid follows the example set forth by wonderful older brother and sister!

Funny Things

Today while soaking up some sun in the backyard:

Jack:  Mom, you know not all dreams can come true.
Me:  What do you mean?
Jack:  Well if I dreamed that a dragon came to Logan, that can't come true, but if I dreamed that I was a super hero, well... that already came true because I am already a super hero.

Then later today I was playing Pandora on the computer and an 80's song came on and Paige started dancing.  I saw her and commented on her dancing.
Paige:  Do you think that I have cool moves?
Me:  Yes I do
Paige: You can't do these cool moves like me
Me:  Nope you are right

I love some of the cute things that they say.  I want to try and write them down more often.

Happy 50th Mom

As mentioned in the previous post, I spent some time in Tahoe with my mom to celebrate her 50th birthday!  I had such a great time.  The bummer part was the weather.  It snowed just about everyday.  There was supposed to be a leg of Amgen bike race Sunday morning.  We got down there to watch it and it was snowing, then a police car drove by letting everyone know that this leg had been cancelled.  There was lots of snow and most of the roads were closed so that the bikers couldn't go on them.

When I got to Tahoe my aunt and uncle were already there and so was my dad, brother, sister-in-law and cute little niece.  Everyone but my dad had to leave Sunday and had a hard time with the snow.  Then my dad flew out on Monday.  My mom's friend was supposed to come up on Tuesday but didn't because of, you guessed it, the snow.  It was just my mom and I.  I really enjoyed getting to just chill and go the hot tub a couple times a day.  My sister was supposed to fly in on Wednesday night but because of equipment issues and weather she missed her connecting flight and never actually made it to Tahoe.  I was due to flight out Thursday and since my mom had to leave Friday morning about the same time that my sister could have gotten there, I decided to drive to Utah with my mom Thursday morning, so she could spend some time with Meghan.  It also turns out that Paige got a little stomach bug while I was gone so I am really glad that I didn't cave and bring her with me.  That would not have been relaxing at all.

Here are some pictures from my stay there:

Poor tulips!

For the bike race there were these big bikes all around.

Someone had the idea of going down to the vendors for the bike race and it was snowing pretty hard!

My cute mom.

Look at that preggo belly gut!  Attractive.

It is so pretty in Tahoe.  I love it there.

The last month or so....

The rest of April and all of May seemed to fly right on by.

We got the concrete finished and to say that we love it would be an under statement.  The kids are out there whenever the weather is nice riding bikes, drawing with chalk or playing in their little pool.  We have had a lot of rain so we definitely take advantage of our new space when the weather is nice.  Next up is to put in grass.  That will add a new level of fun for the kids in the backyard.  I will post pics once we get it all done.

We had a nice Easter.  There were a few little events going on around town for kids the Saturday before Easter and so I took the kids.  The first stop was at a nearby park for an egg hunt.  I am sad to report that neither of them were able to get any eggs.  I was kind of frustrated that parents were letting their kids hoard eggs when it was clear that there were not enough eggs to do that.

They sure looked cute though.  After the disappointment there we went to Lee's Marketplace where it was set up more like trick or treating.  They got their buckets filled there.  I was trying to remember if we did anything special for dinner on Easter and then I remembered that we set up the BBQ that Aaron got for his birthday and had Tri-tip.  A family favorite.  I did not buy enough meat.  It was a very yummy Easter dinner and so nice to be with my cute little family.

Next up in events was my birthday.  I had a wonderful day.  I had told Aaron that I all I really wanted on the day of my birthday was to get out of the house and be with other adults.  I was in disparate need for some adult interaction.  Aaron did not disappointment.  He had told me that he tired getting a hold of my friends to all go out to dinner and they all said they were busy.  But of course Aaron is sneaky.  We get to the restaurant and some of my friends showed up.  I had a great time laughing and eating lots of meat!
Aaron left for about a week to attend Google IO (a conference that Google puts on).  He had a fun time road tripping with some friends and soaking in all of the Google geekness.  While he was gone I decided to work a little more on Paige's room.  I had painted the purple awhile ago.  But I added the Tangled sun and the phrase "I see the light".  I have some paper lanterns that I still need to hang and a few other accessories, but I think she loves it.

After Aaron got back from San Francisco, I flew to Reno, NV to spend about a week with my mom in Tahoe to celebrate her 50th birthday.  Aaron got back on Friday and I left Saturday.  It was kind of a crazy two weeks.  As I was getting ready to leave Saturday morning,  Paige started asking if she could come and I thought sure if we can get you a cheap flight.  Of course at that point we could not.  She broke my heart as she packed up her Dora the Explorer backpack.  Aaron finally convinced her that she would have more fun staying home than going with me.  But once we were at the airport she started looking frantic again and crying that she couldn't go with me.  I almost broke down and bought her the $500 airplane ticket.  Oh it broke my heart.  But of course she got over it and had a great time with Aaron and Jack.

Once I got back from Tahoe, it was crunch time to make the finishing touches to our photo booth before our first event.  We got them all done and the event, a graduation party, was so fun and I would say a success.

Whew!  May was certainly busy for us.  Our summer is looking to be pretty calm.  It sort of has to be with a baby joining us at the end of summer.
