We started a trend

So my dad has hated his job for about 18 years and he has worked there 19 years. He stayed so that my parents would not have to move us kids around and have to switch schools, make new friends and that whole thing. I truly appreciate his sacrifice. I loved growing up in the same house in our little town of Los Osos, CA and I can thank my dad for that since he stuck out working at a place where he was not happy. There is some good news to this sad story. Since my youngest brother is now in his first year of college and will be submitting his mission papers in the next few weeks, my parents have decided now is a good time to make a move. My dad has been looking for jobs and has had a handful of interviews. While my family was here last week, my dad got a job offer and he accepted the position today! I am so happy for him. So my parents are following mine and Aaron's lead and moving. They will be moving to New Mexico at the end of the summer. I am kind of sad that the house and town where I did my growing up will no longer have a home for me to come "home" to but that is ok, because now my dad will be happy at his new job. It looks like my brother and his wife might move too! (After he graduates and depending where he gets a job)

Coloring Eggs!!!

Jack had a good time coloring eggs. He didn't quite understand that the eggs are fragile and he would toss them into the cups to be colored like he was shooting a basket. So he broke some. We gave him one after it was colored to put some stickers on it and he took a bite out of the egg, shell and all! Then the Easter Bunny visited our house the next day.

Paige's Blessing

Since my family was out here this weekend, we had Paige blessed yesterday, which was also Easter Sunday! It was such a beautiful day and Paige looked so pretty. My mom made her blessing dress and it is the only dress that she has right now that fits. She is still so little.

Moving!!!

So its official. Aaron and I were selected to be the on site managers at the storage facility where I am currently working part time. So sometime in the middle of May we will be making the move to the on site apartment. Oh did I mention that it is a one bedroom apartment?! I know I think its crazy too, but well worth it. We should be able to pay off all debt and save for our "forever" house. If you have any extra boxes please send them our way!

Proud Dad!

Paige Kaylie Wells was born at 5:27 pm on March 10th 2008. I went in for my appointment on Monday at 8:30am and the doctor stripped my membranes and told me that I was dilated to a 3+ and told me to come back if I start having contractions 3-5 minutes apart. He thought he would either see me later that day or on Tuesday. So I went to work and started having some back pain and a tight tummy every once and a while. I was talking to my mom telling her about the appointment and the pain that I was feeling. She said "um have you started timing when your tummy gets tight?" I said no. She advised that I start timing the pain and tightness. So I did and what do you know, I was having contractions about 2-3 minutes apart. So I called Aaron, and my boss told them that I think that I am having contractions. So Aaron and I meet at home and went to the doctor's office. While I was there he checked me again and I was now dilated to a 4. So he said that we should head up to the new women's center and he would meet us there to break my water. We took our time and got there about the same time (1:30pm) as him and he broke my water and requested that I have the baby after office hours at around 5:30. I told him I would see what I could do. I didn't really progress until I got the epidural and then I went from a 4 to a 9+ in about 2 hours. The nurse paged the doctor and said us to hold off pushing for 10 ten minutes. I guess you could already see Paige's head, well Aaron was able to anyway. When he got there I pushed twice and she was out at 5:27. Just about the time the doctor requested. She weighed 5 lbs 15 oz. and was 18.5 inches long.
This experience was 10 million times better than with Jack. I was actually coherent after giving birth and not on the Mag. It was a nice and pleasant stay. Paige and I were both cleared to leave the hospital around 5pm Tuesday. I am feeling great and enjoying the many many benefits of giving birth to a tiny baby. Here are some pictures of her at the hospital and with Jack when we got home. Jack was a little unsure when he came with my sister Meghan to visit us at the hospital but since being home he has totally warmed up to the idea of having Paige around. He wants to hold her and carry her around the house which is frustrating for him when we don't let him carry her around the house. He will figure it out. We really appreciate everyone who took Jack for us or who offered to take Jack these last few days so that Aaron could be with Paige and I at the hospital. It is hard not having family close by during times like these but it is great to see how great your friends are! THANKS AGAIN!

And the doctor said...

...no more monkeys jumping on the bed! Well not really. I asked him yesterday at my weekly appointment if there was any way I could have the baby this weekend and he kindly said no. I knew that this would probably be his response but I had to ask in case he surprised me. He did say that he thinks that I will deliver on my own within the week. I really hope that he is right. Think happy birthing thoughts for me and have a great weekend.
