Tonys Grove

Since we got into town Jack has been asking if we can go over and in the mountains. So today was the day. Late this afternoon we headed to Tonys Grove. It was just the fix that Jack needed. I think that what he is really wanting to do is go camping, because on the way home he kept asking if we could go back. It was such beautiful weather up there. It was nice since we were in the mountains, it was a little cooler. We brought some sandwiches from Old Grist Mill, ate a little dinner and then walked around the lake. Jack really wanted to go fishing, canoeing and swimming. Sounds like we have a little trip in our future! It would be nice if we could squeeze it in this year before it gets too cold. I was surprised that Paige seemed to also enjoy herself. She was absolutely loving walking around to explore and did not want to be in the Jack-Pack (we still call it the Jack-Pack even though we haven't put Jack in the back-pack for a long time!). It looks like we will be going back to Tonys Grove and I am sure that Jack hopes sooner rather than later.

Getting dirty and not sure how she feels about it, lets just say she was a little more careful not to fall again!

Jack was so happy to be "in the mountains" he was just running and jumping!

Taking her extra precautions against dirt!

Seeing how close they could get before Aaron and I told them to back up!

Taking time to sit and ponder the life of a three year old.

Not happy to be in the Jack-Pack

I have been trying to get a few good shots of them together and a log about four feet off the ground seemed to be the perfect place. They sat still and stayed next to each other. (Don't worry Aaron was standing behind them to make sure they didn't fall)

Just good friends!

My awesome family!

Haircut... Its been a long time coming

Usually we don't let Jack's hair get too long, but with moving and everything I guess I let a much needed hair cut slip.

The long haired shaggy boy

Much better!

While Jack was getting his hair cut, Paige thought that she would sit back, put her feet up and enjoy some Backyardigans!

Don't bother me I am busy!

Back Online

Whew! That was a long week without internet, but I survived! ;) We are still unpacking boxes, slowly but surely. We have all of the essentials unpacked and in their homes, but need to organize and find some missing things. I still can't find the kids silverware, water pitchers, hardware to Paige's crib, a frying pan, and few other things I am sure that I am not aware of yet. Hopefully this weekend as we go through everything in the garage we will find the missing items. It sure is nice to back in our own home and in one that has more than one bedroom! We are also so happy to be back in our old ward and neighborhood, plus we have the most awesomest neighbors on both sides and directly across the street. There are lots of new faces but also lots of familiar ones too. We are really enjoying this cooler weather this week since last week was so hot and then compounded by not having central air. With any luck we can keep the temp outside mild until Fall comes (I felt like I was baking the kids alive in their bedroom at night and for naps, like the witch in Hansel and Gretal).

Jack starts preschool in two weeks, which I am so excited for. I really think that he is going to absolutely love it. Hopefully Paige gets into the lab on campus because it would be really good for her, but if she doesn't we may have to find something else for her to do that Jack doesn't. Maybe another Mommy and me tumbling class is in our future.

We made it!

We arrived in Logan on Sunday. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay with our friends Brent and Julie, since the renters were not out of our house yet. We got to be in the house Monday late afternoon and stayed the night there on an air matress, Paige in the pack n play and Jack on the floor. It was nice to be in our house again. The truck came Tuesday with all of our stuff. So we are in the process now of unpacking and putting everything back in its place. Its weird but as we were unpacking the truck I saw some of the stuff in the garage and just thought yep that's were it belongs. Its like we never left. I already want to paint! With the move to the storage unit and the move to Albuquerque, we really got rid of a good amount of stuff and I am loving it. Its nice to have extra space as I am putting things away. Hopefully by this weekend everything will be in its place and I will have internet again. I had to come up to Aaron's work and use a computer, I was dying without being connected.

Going Off Line

Tomorrow the kids, my mom and I start making our way to Utah. We are going to stay in Moab tomorrow night and then finish the last little bit on Sunday. I called the moving truck company and they are estimating that our trailer will arrive in Logan on Tuesday. So until sometime next week when we get internet I am going off line. Its so weird how internet has become another utility. I mean its not as important as say heat and water but its up there on the list of things to get "turned on" when you move. We are excited to be living again with Aaron and in our own home!

Can I just say that I hate and I mean hate moving. A good thing about this move is that 98% of our belongings were already boxed and packed into our storage unit, so it made loading the truck a little easier. The other totally awesome thing was that this past Tuesday we had three amazing young men from the ward help us load up the trailer. They were such a huge blessing and a tremendous help. We had the truck loaded and locked by 3:00 pm. It feels good to have that out of the way, I was totally dreading packing up that trailer. So now to unpacking and putting everything where it belongs. (sigh) The joys of moving.

Lil Swimmer Boy

I put Jack in swim lessons this summer. In fact I put him in two sessions! We missed the first week of the first session because we were in Utah, so Jack was able to do three weeks of swim lessons back to back. By the end of the third week he was very confident in the water and not afraid to put his head all the way under and jump in.

I loved it when he wore these swim trunks because it was much easier to find him!

Each day before they got in the baby pool they talked about a new pool rule.

About half way through each day they would go over to the big pool. The kids were told to go over in a train. It was cute to see these little three year olds walking over to the big pool saying choo choo!

Jack really enjoyed going to swim lessons each day. It was nice for me too, because the second session there happen to be two other moms from the ward who were there at the same time for their kids swim lessons, so it was fun to visit and chat with them.
